By using Formatly you agree to these terms. The service is free for personal and commercial use, subject to fair usage.
1. Acceptance
By accessing Formatly ("the Service") you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use the Service.
2. What the Service does
Formatly converts files between supported formats. The list of supported formats may change; see /formats for the current set.
3. What you agree not to do
- Upload anything illegal, infringing, harmful, or deliberately abusive.
- Try to reverse-engineer, overload, or compromise the Service.
- Use bots or automation to hammer the endpoint beyond ordinary human use.
- Upload malware or content designed to harm other users or our infrastructure.
4. Your files, your responsibility
You represent that you own, or have the right to use, every file you upload, and that nothing you upload infringes anyone else's rights.
5. Limits
- 20 MB per file, 5 files per upload.
- Fair-use rate limiting applies. We may throttle or block abusive traffic.
- We can add, remove, or change supported formats.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy governs how we handle your data. Briefly: uploads auto-delete in one hour, we don't read them, we don't sell anything.
7. IP
The Service, its code, and its design are owned by Formatly. The files you upload remain yours — we claim no rights to them.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that every conversion will be perfect, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet every need. Complex formatting, proprietary extensions, and corrupt source files can all produce imperfect output.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Formatly is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. If you lose something important, don't rely on a free web tool as your only copy.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Formatly against third-party claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your files.
11. Suspension
We may suspend access without notice if we reasonably believe someone is abusing the Service.
12. Changes
We can update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on this page and, where we can, announced in advance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
